molpigs – The Molecular Programming Interest Group!
Do you miss the interaction of the DNAx and FNANOx conferences elsewhen in the year? If so, molpigs may be for you! We are a group of over 200 people interested in molecular programming from within and without the field. molpigs runs a number of activities:
- We have a newsletter advertising various things related to molecular programming.
- We have a slack for community discussion.
- We run a semi-regular prodcast, where we highlight researchers in the community. The podcast is by molecular programmers, for molecular programmers, and the episodes cover guests’ journeys through academia, as well as the tools and thought processes that make their research successful.
- Last year we also ran a reading group entitled “Revisiting the Classics” in which we read seven of Ned Seeman’s papers over seven weeks and led weekly small-group discussion sessions about how these fundamental papers shaped the field and what they can teach us about molecular programming today. We will soon be launching a new reading group on the “Fundamentals of DNA computing”.
If you want to get involved in any of these or find out more, please go to our website at https://molpi.gs! There, you can subscribe to our mailing list, the podcast, follow us on Twitter, and join the slack.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
